21 weeks-It's a BOY!

I am 21 weeks pregnant! I can't believe it honestly. I went to the doctor on Dec. 11th for my ultrasound. We confirmed it is a BOY! Chad will have a fishing buddy now! His name will be ETHAN TYLER YORK. I have bought so many clothes for him! I just can't resist them! I love Gymboree and baby gap the most! Chad says I will have enough to change him 4 times a day! ha!

I am doing his room in a monkey theme. We are putting up the chair rail in January and then we will paint the top half sage green and the bottom half chocolate brown. I have picked my crib and changing table system out from Pottery Barn Kids in "expresso" color. We are going to start getting the furniture, painting, and doing registeries in Jan. I have found a few monkey items that I love at Babysrus, along with the car seat, swing, stroller, and other neat things Ethan will need. I am designing his baby bedding from a website online. They do custom bedding and I have already ordered my swatches and picked out the different fabrics I want to use. A couple of major things I have to decide on in the next few months is a babysitter and a pediatrician (hopefully Dr. Kelly). I have registered for 4 classes to take at the Medical Center to get prepared for this baby! I am feeling lots of kicks and flips in my stomach. Ethan is very active and always reacts to loud noises. I have a really good appetite now and I have been eating things I would never touch like cooked carrots, broccoli, etc. My next doctor's appt. is Jan. 11th. I will get my sugar tested for gestational diabetes at this visit.

Tonight we are going to rest at home and get ready for Christmas. Thursday night will be spent with the King's in Leitchfield. Friday we will travel to TN to stay with Ron & Shayne at their cabin and visit with family there. Saturday we will come back home and have Christmas with my mamaw in Millerstown that night. Sunday night we will have Christmas with my parents! Lots of visiting coming up soon! I need to get rested up! I love Christmas time!

First ultrasound (16 weeks)...

Well today has been the best day of my pregnancy so far! Chad and I went to a place in Bowling Green called "Precious Views." They do early 3D ultrasounds. Today we found out we are having a little BOY!!! We are all so excited. None of us had a preference, we just want him to be healthy. I have been thinking it was a boy since day one. Today we have proof. We saw the "plumbing" on the little guy. He looks perfect. His heart looks strong, his spine looks perfect, he has 5 fingers and toes, and long feet and arms (like his mommy and daddy)! Maybe he will make a great basketball player, golfer, or baseball player! I know he will be his daddy's new fishing buddy! That's for sure! The grandparents are absolutely tickled. Everyone is just happy to actually know what we are having! My next dr. appt. is Dec. 4th and they will do an ultrasound as well. It was just so amazing to see our little baby boy and to know that he looks healthy. One time he stuck his tongue out and was drinking fluids. So sweet. I will never forget those 30 minutes today as we tried to determine if it was a boy or a girl.

Update

Sorry I haven't been on here in a long time. My friend Sandra reminded me that I haven't given a baby update or anything! I am 14 weeks. The baby is due May 2nd....what a wonderful Mother's Day and birthday for me (May 9th). So far we got to hear the baby's heart beat, which was amazing, and do lab work. I go back on Nov. 11th for another regular checkup. Here's the exciting one: Mark your calendars for Nov. 25th! Hopefully our baby will cooperate and let us see if it is a boy or a girl! I can't wait! We really have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving! I have been sick or nauesous pretty much the whole time until now. I believe I am getting over this! I do have a small baby bump or as I call it "a kangaroo pouch." I can tell it is growing every week. I would say by Christmas I will be wearing maternity clothes. This week our baby is the size of an orange. Last week it was a lemon. I am really looking forward to the holidays and finding out what our precious little thing is!

I'm pregnant!!

Wow my dreams have come true. Chad and I are expecting a baby. I am guessing that I am 6-7 weeks along and I am guessing that the baby will be due in May. We go to the doctor (Dr. Lyons) on Monday, Sept. 21st for the lab work and to get lots of information I'm sure. It will be our first visit. I can't even begin to describe how happy we all are that we are going to have a baby! I have always wanted a baby since I was a little girl. I can't wait to have my very own that I can spoil and hold anytime. Yes I will go ahead and say this...the baby will be spoiled I'm pretty sure since Chad and I are both only children. I have known since Aug. 25th. I didn't want to say anything until I just really felt confident even though all 8 pregnancy tests have read positive! LOL. We told our parents this past weekend at a cookout we had at our house. I had made a picture frame with our baby pictures and put a sign that said "Surprise! We are having a baby!" Chad took a picture of that with our camera and put it on our tv. We told our parents we wanted them to look at cute pictures of Lexi. They were so happy!! They were actually speechless and quiet at first but they sure came around quickly! Everyone is just so happy. I also made a the grandmas a "goodie bag" stuffed full of things they would need at their house!

So far I have been really sick and nauseous since Tues. Sept. 8th both morning and afternoon. I know this is just part of pregnancy. I am very lazy and very tired. This is the best time of my life so far, even with the sicky feelings.

Finally, my very own blog

I finally decided to take the time and create my very own blog! I always read about everyone else and now they can read about my family too. It's going to take me some time to get the hang of this, so bare with me. I don't have much to say at this moment. I will add more later. :)
